Relief for Ukraine

St. Joseph Students show they care about our brothers and sisters all over the world! In our morning prayers we remember those families in Ukraine who are suffering. Our generous families raised $450 for Catholic Relief Services for the people in Ukraine, during this hard time.

Shepherd Home Collection

Throughout June our school collects paper and hygiene products that address the current needs of the residents of the Shepherd Home.

Souper Bowl Sunday

Students donate a can of soup on the Friday before Super Bowl Sunday to benefit the Penfield Ecumenical Food Cupboard.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Students donate nonperishable food items that would be assembled into food baskets for families that are in need in response to the growing number of families in need in the area. Food is also donated to the Penfield Ecumenical Food Cupboard.

Kindergarten

Kindergarteners make holiday cards for nursing home residents and homeless shelters. Children create greeting cards for the Veterans Outreach Center and religious book marks for the prison ministry of the church. There is a collection of mittens and gloves donated to the children of Bethany House during the month of December.

Grade 1

First graders create holiday decorations in November and March for residents of the Friendly Home Nursing Home.

Grade 2

Second graders bake pies for the Open Door Mission.

Grade 3

Third graders contribute clothing, toys, and other necessities to the parish-wide collection during Advent, to be donated to a gift distribution at our city sister parish to families in need.

Grade 4

Fourth graders organized a collection of gently used blankets for the Humane Society of Rochester as well as collected items for for Mercy House during Advent with the sixth graders.

Grade 5

Fifth graders organize and collect food items that provide a special Thanksgiving dinner and pantry items to a Saint Joseph School family in need.

Grade 6

The sixth grade collects items for Mercy House during Advent with the fourth graders.
